LindauW, located on an island of the “Lake of Constance”, first mentioned in 882 as a nunnery at the equally called island, became an Imperial Free City in 1274/75.
Lindau lost its status as an Imperial Free City in 1802, became Austrian and then (1805) Bavarian.


Famous is the view through Lindau’s Harbour entrance – here seen from a different angle than usually.
